FOCUS has offered EFM range of evaporators since 1990, gaining a global reputation with 1000+ units sold. The e-beam evaporators family from the simplest EFM3 to more sophisticated solutions like the EFM3i, are dedicated to ultra-pure sub-monolayer to multilayer thin film growth under UHV.


VUV sources

The FOCUS VUV sources are strictly designed to deliver best performance. Popular products like HIS 13 and HIS 14, are based on a cold cathode capillary discharge powered by up to 200 mA discharge current (200 W). The sources can be operated with various gases, i.e., He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe or H2.


Ion source

The FDG range of hot filament ion sources are the premium product line for: clean metals and semiconductors, or undertake XPS Depth Profiling, ISS/LEIS experiments or as a < 15 eV Charge Neutralization source.

Ionautics

HiPSTER pulser

Ionautics specialises in High-Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HiPIMS). This technique produces thin-films with improved properties (smoother, denser…). Ionautics produces the necessary hardware to convert standard DC sputtering systems to HiPIMS. The HiPSTER pulser is able to drive existing DC power supplies. Ionautics also provides a range of coatings (DLC, ITO, etc.) produced by the HiPIMS method and is eager to collaborate or provide the R&D capability to develop new coatings on behalf of customers. Ionautics is hence well-qualified to offer extensive technical support to assist customers to get started with HiPIMS technology.

HiPNano is a hollow cathode nanoparticle cluster source, designed for maximized target material ionization and nanoparticle growth; and operated in high-power pulsed mode and optimized for our HiPSTER 1 HiPIMS unit.

Vacuum Optics

Torr Scientific manufactures a range of UHV viewports in CF, ISO or KF formats including a variety of anti-reflective coatings. Materials include Kodial (borosilicate glass), Quartz, Sapphire, MgF2, BaF2, CaF2, ZnSe, CVD diamond and Lead Glass. Non-magnetic options and 316LN flanges are offered. The viewports are manufactured and coatings are processed in cleanroom. Customization is possible.


X-ray & Electron-Optical Components (XEO)

Torr Scientific manufactures and refurbishes X-Ray anodes and sources. The devices are manufactured in cleanroom and key processes such as brazing, helium leak testing and thin film coating are all carried out at the company.
